Longsword / Advanced Longsword

We focus mainly on the 15th/16th century Liechtenauer tradition of German Longsword. These classes are appropriate for anyone who has a grasp of the fundamentals, such as from the Intro course or previous experience from personal practice or another club.


Intro to Longsword

This is an 8 week course for all new students. All necessary gear will be provided. Students should wear sports appropriate clothing, including closed-toe shoes.

Classes will be every Tuesday, 7:00pm – 8:30pm from January 8th to February 26th.

At the completion of the class, students will be able to join the Advanced German Longsword classes on Mondays and Thursdays.

A Sworded Sundays

See our Schedule for when our Sunday classes at Highland Park will take place. These donation classes will be whatever weapon the students who attend are interested in learning. Polish Sabre, Sword and Buckler, Rapier, etc. Suggested donation is $5.

Sword and Buckler

Description: This class will explore Sword and Buckler from multiple sources including I.33, Liegniczer, and Bolognese.

Gear: Students are encouraged to bring their own mask, gloves, arming sword, and buckler. The club will provide these items for students who do not have them.


Rapier

Gear: Students are encouraged to bring their own mask and gloves. The club will provide these items for students who do not have them. We have only a few Rapiers, so if you have your own, please bring them.


 

Sabre – Polish, Italian, Military

Description: Nick Bulan, originally of Phoenix Society, dabbles in many versions of Sabre. Sabre is a single handed weapon with a slight curve to the blade, and has many similarities to Messer.
