Longsword

When: Mondays/Thursdays 7:00pm – 8:30pm and Tuesdays 8:30pm – 10:00pm

We focus mainly on the 15th/16th century Liechtenauer tradition of German Longsword. These classes are appropriate for anyone who has a grasp of the fundamentals, such as from the Intro course or previous experience from personal practice or another club.


Intro to Longsword

Instructor: Chris Shelton
When: Tuesdays, 7:00pm – 8:30pm

This is an 8 week course for all new students. All necessary gear will be provided. Students should wear sports appropriate clothing, including closed-toe shoes.

At the completion of the class, students will be able to join the Intermediate classes.

Sabre – Polish, Italian, Military

Instructor: Nick Bulan
When: Thursdays, 8:30pm – 10:00pm

Description: Nick, originally of Phoenix Society, dabbles in many versions of Sabre. Sabre is a single handed weapon with a slight curve to the blade, and has many similarities to Messer.

Gear: Students are encouraged to bring their own mask and gloves. The club will provide these items for students who do not have them. We have only a few Sabres, so if you have your own, please bring them.


Sword and Buckler

Description: This class will explore Sword and Buckler from multiple sources including I.33, Liegniczer, and Bolognese.

A Sworded Sundays

These are warm weather classes we offer periodically on our calendar on Sundays in Highland Park. These donation classes are whatever weapon the students who attend are interested in learning. Polish Sabre, Sword and Buckler, Rapier, etc. Suggested donation is $5.
