Next you’ll learn about Distance, how to tell if you’re too close or too far to Hew your opponent.

Then we practice Hewing from above (Oberhaw) correctly while stepping with Passing Steps.

Then you’ll learn about Voiding (dodging) attacks to the head.

After Voiding is the perfect time to “Nachraisen” (Travel After) with a Hew to your opponent’s head.

If time permits, we end with a more free-flowing sparring game where each person can decide when to attack and when to void.  Only the upper openings count as a target (hands don’t count) and no parrying is allowed!
