Class 2: Hanging Parries

First we will show you how to stand in a Hanging Parry. After throwing an Oberhaw (Hew from above), a Hanging Parry can quickly protect an upper Opening.

Then we will practice a moving Oberhaw - Hanging Parry pattern.

After that we practice two circular Simple Step Oberhaw - Hanging Parry patterns. The final pattern of the day is an alternating variation that teaches more mental flexibility.  For Hanging Parries when the sword points to the left, you move right. When the sword points to the right, you move left. Sometimes with this pattern it is best to parry in a more Kron-like Parry and then Invert into the Hanging Parry to better protect the hands.
