Class 5: Zwerhaw and Kron
First we show you how to throw a “Zwerhaw” (Thwart Hew) from either Ox or Vom Tag on either side.
Then we practice them with passing steps with each strike.
Standing still we then show you how to “Kron” (Crown) parry these strikes. Kron parries are very quick but are almost purely defensive and can lead to wrestling (included in the next class).
Then we practice retreating from repeated Zwerhaw from an opponent with Kron parries.
Next, we show you how to throw “Underzwers” (Zwerhaw from beneath) targeting the hands on either side.
Following that we practice the “Meyer Square” pattern of alternating Zwerhaws high and low on each side as well as defending against this pattern. (See the video).
